Acquario 9893

Spotted this very shiny train in the station in Bari this morning. Not only is it equipped with extremely efficient mirrored windows, but its surface is so clean that it reflects as effectively as the windows!

Acquario means both "Aquarius" (the zodiac sign) and "aquarium" (where you keep your pet fish) and it seemed to me that the people on the platform looked like they were in a fish bowl!

Nice train! Perfect if you want to travel around incognito, in your very own yellow aquarium!

Great shots!. Thanks for visiting One Photograph a Day. I am sure we can turn the Corcoran picture into a puzzle.

I want to go on a train ride! Never get to do that here!

Those mirrored windows are fantastic! I presume the passengers can see through the one-way glass while staying cool in the summer?

R&M - almost like a yellow submarine!

Luis - let me know when it goes on the market!

Jacob - aw, shucks...

Leif - yeah, I guess trains are neat. They kind of lose their glamor when you have to use them every day...

Chuck - I don't know! This wasn't actually "my" train, this one was heading south to Lecce. My train never arrived yesterday, I had to wait 40 minutes for another one. Another reason that train-riding has lot its "specialness" for me (back to Leif's comment!).

That is a beautiful train. It looks like it may not be a Ferrovie Statali but a private company.

That's what it looks like, Patsy. And that's probably why it's SO clean! :-)
