They are so familiar... Nice photo... I mainly receive bills and junk mail, though... except a few cards at Christmas and the occasional postcard... :-(
We get tons of mail daily - most of which goes into the trash immediately. I find the posters stuck on these interesting and amusing. Nobody does that in the State...I think it's a federal crime to deface a mailbox.
Yup, bills and junk mail...that's all that's left in the old mailbox! It's probably a crime to deface a mailbox in Italy too, but...that doesn't stop anyone!
I send (and receive) a lot of mail, mainly postscards via Postcrossing, but also cards and letters to friends. Email is fine, but is just not the same :-)
I feel sad when I see postboxes turned into garbage bins. Sniff!
one of my ny resolutions is to send more (personal) snail mail....I know I love getting something besides junk or bills in the mail....a handwritten note from a friend or family member makes my day!

oh, but I like them! Especially the red Italian ones. In Sweden they are yellow, but yes - they are becoming rarities.
Very good question: I am receiving only bills and can't remeber the last time I sent something.
They will become collectibles. Grab them while you can.
getting mail reminds me of the good old days when we used to collect stamps!
Here, they're still used a lot!
If it weren't for junk mail, our would be out of business.
Great shot. Sad how nobody writes any more.

The only things we receive in the mail are bills and advertisements.

great mailboxes. So used to virtual mail these days that I don't think a lot about surface mail!
