Torre Gavetone Beach

The Torre Gavetone beach is considered by many to be the nicest free beach in town. The water is almost always clean and transparent. The only problem is the rumor that a WWII ship carrying bombs and other arms was sunk just off the coast here. Children find old metal fuses under the rocks...

But, let's not dwell on these unpleasant thoughts! Let's just envy this fellow working on his tan at the beach at 4 o'clock in the afternoon in mid-October!

Free? Does it mean that the other beaches are not free? Uh! The gentleman is a sun-worshipper of the best kind: good looking and in good health. I hope you uses sun-screen.

Free means that no private beach club with umbrellas and beach chairs that you have to pay for has been built along the shore here.

Nice weather, Saretta! Here in Turin it's hot as well (considering we are in October).
Happy Sunday!

He appears to be lying on a rock. I have to believe that is awfully uncomfortable. What people do for a tan.

Happy Sunday to you, too, Pietro!

We don't have any sand beaches in Molfetta, Mr. B! Believe it or not, you can be comfortable on those rocks!

I love October sunshine in the Med. I snapped these ladies topping up their tans just last week in Greece :-)

Lovely deserted beach, better old WWII metal than contemporary trash!
