An Outsider's View In and Around Molfetta, Italy
I've seen it, but can't name it...sorry :-(
Sorry, as I told you before, same problem here! I do not post many images of flower because I can't say what they are...Only thing can say: it is nice!
I have not seen this flower before. I must be a new one for me.
It looks like a cardoon, an artichoke-type flower. Beautiful.
Let's see: Purple pineapple? Mauve marchesa? Flower between the rocks? No?I give up.Love the photo, though.
I'm with Jacob. Haven't a clue what it is called, but love the photo!
A friend tells me this is the flower for the "lampasciuolo," which is the root of the plant. These are a local plant and supposedly are an aphrodisiac. Most people I know just get gas when they eat them, though! You can see a photo of the bulbs and read about their powers on an older post of mine http://molfetta-daily-photo.blogspot.com/2008/08/bulbs-of-passion.html
Looks like that link didn't work, but the date of the post is August 27, 2008.
Well, you had better, errrr....get it tested somehow! Thanks for the birthday greetings - much appreciated! Sydney Daily Photo
