Monthly Theme Day: Doorways

The entrance to the Crusader's Hospital at the Church of the Madonna dei Martiri. For more information on this church, click here. This "hospital" is now used as a gallery space.

Very interesting iterations of the building's use. I really like its simplicity and the warm, welcoming light.

Reminds me of the hospidale across from the duomo in Sienna which is also now used as a gallery / museum. I believe it, too, was a hospital that dated from the time of the crusades.

What a stunning doorway - the light within makes it so welcoming somehow. Glad to know it's a gallery space.
