The butchers is probably my favourite shop of all. This one looks excellent!
Butcher shops have mostly disappeared here. I remember going with my grandfather to butcher counters in the back of old small grocers, but that was decades ago.
My confession of the butcher and elsewhere throughout Molfetta is my enjoyment of horse. I was told it's common in Molfetta so I tried it and loved it. Northern Italy, it's not so common from what I hear.
I ordered it many times during my two week stay. Here in the U.S., it's frowned upon. China eats dogs, cats, bugs and reptile!
What a wonderful shop. They are few and far between which makes it all the more joyous to treat oneself with their delightful fresh meats and delicacies.

Lagrasta - yes, horse meat is commonly eaten around here. I have tried it and it is tasty, but I never eat it by choice...I just can't get my brain around the whole Black Beauty thing!
Frankie, Elaine, Kris, Ann, Tanya -butcher shops are very common here. This is a particularly nice one, IMHO, but I have to admit to being a bit squeamish around slabs of raw meat!
I would like 200 grams of ham please.... oh! I'm not really in the shop!
I need some prosciutto to make my Brajole!
