Molfetta was the site of the Aritimia Mediterranea Sounds of Peace Music and Mural Painting Festival on September 11 and 12. It was a two-day event featuring concerts and a "writing contest," which was actually a spray-painting mural contest. The photos I've taken are of the works of art on an abandoned wall along the narrow road leading into the city swimming pool...which is closed this year...but that's another story for another post...
Check out the winners in the mural painting competition at this link!

This cherry nosed mouse should win a big piece of cheese!
In a similar vein, "Louis" has been showing this Urban Art series he has taken on Albany Point.
Hi Saretta,
First, thank you for your kind words and comment on my 100th post.
I think this is my first visit to your blog, and I'm glad I returned your visit. You have a wonderful blog with wonderful pictures.
These murals especially are very interesting. Are these murals going to stay after the festival is over? (I hope they will.) They look nice.
That's a great idea for decorating ugly, abandoned walls! Metro Manila should hold a similar contest. I like the one on the top — very witty.
Fantastic anf funny mural paintings! The 1st one is my favourite.
Those are great! I like the "mouse" too.
Marie Reed & Elaine - I like the mouse, too, though it looks like that nose might just topple him over!
Louis - I lik you Urban Art series, thanks for pointing it out to me.
Eki - thanks for stopping by! Yes, the murals will remain...at least until they are worn away by wind and rain or the hot sun.
Hilda & jm - the first one is very clever, isn't it? I was surprised it wasn't one of the winners. See tomorrow's post for a photo of a winner, it's the one in purple.
I love this kind of artwork and to find out it stands for soemthing too is great.
