The Giro d'Italia passed through Molfetta this afternoon. It was quite exciting and a very rare event, since the Giro doesn't usually make it down our way. In fact, the last time it came through these parts was about 20 years ago they tell me.
My thanks to my friend Svetlana, and her fast reflexes, for this photo. I arrived just as the cyclists were zipping by and they were SO fast that by time I whipped my camera out...they were gone!

Forza Italia! I had the same problem last summer. The Tour de France passed through our street in Barcelona (no, it is still not a part of France!), and they were just too fast. Couldn't really ask them to slow down for me.
I love The Giro. I'll have to see if they are covering it here on the TV. Used to love watching "Super Mario" and the other boys.

Wow! They are fast indeed! I saw the Giro once here in Verona (it'll pass again here on the 30th) and once in my hometown Porto S. Stefano. There's an amazing number of people following the Giro, I mean actually working within the contest, publicity, sponsors etc. A mess. But enjoyable.
