Roses for Mamma

This trio was selling roses on a street corner on Mother's Day. When I asked them if I could take their picture, the guy in the middle said, "yes," the guy on the left turned his back on me and the guy on the right didn't know what was going on until it was too late...at which point he tried to run out of the frame. I said, "But, your friend said it was okay" and quickly cycled away! I'd say these gentlemen were probably working without a business license...but then they might sue me for libel, so, no...I'm sure their papers are in order!

Good grief, one needs a license for everything these days.

I loved the previous picture of Anna. What a wonderful tradition.

Your 'quickly cycled away' says it all!

One of the issues of taking street photos like this is you never know the stories of the people in the shots. Some may simply not want to be photographed for personal reasons and others may have legal reasons for not wanting to be photographed.

I was taking a picture of a building with benches in front of it one day and a gentleman saw me preparing to take the picture simply pulled his hat down over his eyes and put his head on his chest. I thought that was pretty clever of him, no fuss, no drawing attention to himself and he couldn't be identified in the picture.

On the other hand, there are cameras all over the place these days - traffic/police cameras, TV crews, tourists - you could be on film (or memory card) 100 times a day if you live in a big city and not even know it. I doubt the police in Molfetta (or anywhere else for that matter) are busy scouring blogs for potential photos of people who may or not have been somewhere in the city doing something they shouldn't be doing sometime over the past few hours, days, months or years.

I agree with Tinsie. Good shot, Saretta!
