Focaccia Rising

I haven't shown you any food for a while. This is a homemade focaccia set out on the balcony to rise in the warm sun. It's not exactly my idea of warm these days, but this balcony is protected from wind and the sun was able to do its part. By the way...it was delicious!

Oh my gosh, that looks soooooooooo good. I just wish I lived closer. (You'll be in LA area this summer, won't you?)

Well, I have to admit that this focaccia was made by my friend...I will ask her for the recipe for you all!

Why no focaccia on Santa Lucia's day? And best wishes, by the way!

Tash, unfortunately it's very unlikely that I'll get to the States any time soon. And now that my parents have retired to West Virginia, I rarely get over to the West Coast! You'll just have to come to Molfetta! ;-)

Ok...here's the recipe... Please note that this is a translation into English from Italian written by a Russian!

400 grams flour
15 gr. yeast
extra virgin olive oil
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar

Mix all ingredients and knead intensely for 15 minutes. Let rise 1 hour in warm place. Dress with tomatoes, olives, oregano, salt and rivers of extra virgin olive oil. Bake in preheated oven at 400°celcius.

thanks for the recipe!

I will definitely try it out... I'll have to go through yet another translation with the whole grams thing - are you sure that's 400 degrees celcius...as that would be 752 degrees fahrenheit. don't think my oven gets that hot...I'll try it at 4oo degrees F instead.

buon eppetito!

You're right, Kimy, that was supposed to be 200° celcius! Oops!

This is inspiring me to try a batch. Focaccia is one of my favorite breads.

Are you certain of the 400° Celsius? That's 750ยบ Fahrenheit!
