Intersection

This is the intersection at the foot of Via 25 Aprile, a four-lane road (that's big for us around here!). If you continue straight on through the intersection, you will arrive at the Prima Cala public beach that I featured in photos this past week.

Sometimes people don't quite make the curve, as you can see (if you click on the photo to enlarge it) from the condition of the road signs. One day a friend's brakes went out and she crashed into the two boxes (just beyond the first car in the right lane) and knocked out the traffic lights. She was fine, but long weeks passed before the lights were fixed...

What? They didn't fix the traffic lights right away? No wonder there are crashes- ha. Your city looks so beautiful. Would love a visit!

Virginia...functioning traffic lights are an option around here! The whole Apulia region is definitely worth a visit!

Kiwi - all the better for running into!

Seems like we share the same problems. road works here take ages, if ever they are finished :)

Kiwi - frisa is the Italian word, rusk is the English.

Marie - I know exactly what you mean!

I'm glad your friend wasn't hurt. It must have been interesting while you waited for the lights to be fixed. After hurricanes we sometimes don't have traffic lights and everyone is soooo polite to each other. It's kinda nice.

The signs appear to be a useful reminder to the drivers to "turn now"...
