This is a decoration that can be found on some walls of older buildings. Apparently it allows for air flow between the outer wall and an inner wall, but I don't know much more than that.

It's attractive and serves a purpose!
A nice decorative feature. Here we just have bricks with holes in or plastic vents.
It's one of the prettieset designed air vents I have ever seen. Why can't we have this sort of thought with our building. I really like this idea.
